Showcasing Cumbria's Net Zero Leadership
Last week, several leading Cumbrian organisations came together to support the Net Zero North West Board Meeting, kindly hosted by Spirit Energy at their Barrow Gas Terminal.
The event provided a valuable platform to highlight Cumbria's growing leadership in the transition to net zero.
The Head of Net Zero from Enterprising Cumbria played an active role in the discussions, helping to spotlight the region's strengths and strategic opportunities in the low-carbon economy.
Attendees also had the opportunity to explore a range of pioneering local initiatives, including Spirit Energy's Morecambe Net Zero (MNZ) project, and the vital work of BEC-BC in strengthening the regional energy supply chain. The Barrow Rising initiative was also highlighted for it's contribution to economic and environmental revitalisation in the area.
These projects align closely with Cumbria's Going for Growth strategy, reinforcing the region's commitment to sustainable economic development through clean energy innovation and investment.
A big thank-you to Spirit Energy for their generous hospitality and for helping to showcase the region's impressive progress. Together, these initiatives reflect Cumbria's collaborative spirit and its commitment to building a cleaner, greener future.
